Can you make your own video using your iPhone and editing it on your laptop with iMovie?
Absolutely!
Will said video look professional and awesome?
Probably not.
When you hire a professional videographer, you pay for their experience, their expertise, and their gear. A professional knows how to set up certain shots to tell the story in the best light. A professional has already animated other logos and knows how to animate your logo so your company is well represented. A professional has already dealt with that technical snafu and knows the solution.
I made this video because a potential client said something to the effect of, “Why should we hire you, when Jan from accounting made this for us and it cost us nothing?”
I then viewed a video made on an iPhone. There was a lot of camera shake and I got dizzy watching it. Some of the footage was dark and flat. Then some black animated text popped up. Between the camera shake and the text being black on a dark background, I couldn’t watch the video and just turned it off.
That’s the last thing you want when a potential customer is taking a look at using your business.
Thanks for checking this out.
